The interactive map builds on student debt loan reports from the 2013 American Community Survey, compiled by Experien and income data. Experiential information were used by researchers to evaluate the average credit balance and the crime rate in zip-codes across the nation. This enables the resulting choroplethal maps to capture the sharp disparities between US regions as well as variations in metropolitan areas when coupled with the ACS demographic information.

The information indicate a adverse connection between median revenue and delinquency while the relationship between revenue and the average credit balance appears to be positive. That is, more wealthy persons tend to have bigger credit balances throughout the U.S. but are inclined to create payments for such loans more effectively, while poorer borrowers are more likely to take lower loans but also default on their loans.
